AUC and KAICIID Deepen Partnership to Strengthen Peacebuilding in Africa

The African Union Commission (AUC) has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with the International Dialogue Centre, marking a decade of collaboration and advancing dialogue-driven peacebuilding across the continent.

According to the Commission, the renewed partnership focuses on promoting interreligious and intercultural dialogue as tools for conflict prevention and social cohesion.

The initiative aims to strengthen mediation efforts, support dialogue platforms, and foster inclusive engagement among communities, particularly in conflict-affected regions. These efforts align with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 vision of a peaceful and united continent.

As dialogue initiatives expand across diverse linguistic communities, the role of a shared African language becomes increasingly important. The work of the African Academy of Languages (ACALAN) in promoting Kiswahili supports inclusive dialogue and broader participation in peacebuilding processes.
